For Mother's Day, my daughter sent me a 2 quart Lodge cast iron Dutch oven. It came in the mail yesterday and I opened it. Yes. I did. Early. :) I had to try it out. Just before I went to bed, I started a batch of brown rice in it and let it cook all night in the cooking bag I told you about not long ago. I put 4 cups of water and 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt in the pot, brought it to a boil, added 2 cups of brown rice, brought it back to a boil, put on the lid and turned the heat down some and let it boil for 5 minutes. Then, I tucked it all snugly into the cooking bag and let it cook all night. We ate some for breakfast. I don't think I've ever had such perfectly cooked brown rice before. Thank you, DD !!
