Just to let you know...

My sweet Jim, the love of my life and husband of 53 years, passed away suddenly on February 18th. He died of heart failure in his sleep. There was no suffering. He was 78 years old. All 6 of our children gathered and we had several days together. The outpouring of love and support has been so wonderful. I really had no idea how many lives he had touched until the funeral. There were at least 200 people in attendance. Oh how I miss him. I know he is watching over me and when I am finished here on this earth, I will be with him eternally. He was the best man, the best husband, the best friend. I love him so. As one person said, "If Jim didn't go to heaven, there is no heaven." He will be greatly missed by many.

  3. Very sorry to hear, thank you for the post. I wish you peace and healing as you adjust to life without him. My husband of 41 years passed two years ago and adjusting to the new life takes years apparently. Now at year two and I am sort of feeling like I can see normal in the future. Not the future I would have chosen but still a future. Hilogene in Az.

    1. Thank you so much, Melynda. My mental health is improving, but the grief is very raw. I am hoping to move back to my own house soon, but I know that is going to be very hard. I've been staying with my youngest daughter and her husband because I was quite ill. I had no idea what people go through with grief. I truly appreciate your kind words. Thank you.

  10. People do not go to heaven or to hell at death. They don’t go anywherebut they wait in their graves for the resurrection.

All who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth (John 5:28, 29).

David is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. For David did not ascend into the heavens (Acts 2:29, 34).

If I wait, the grave is mine house (Job 17:13 KJV).

The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout. And the dead in Christ will rise. And thus we shall always be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17).

The serpent said to the woman, ‘You will not surely die’ (Genesis 3:4)
The devil’s lie that we will not die is one of the pillars of his teachings. For thousands of years, he has worked powerful, deceptive miracles to trick people into thinking they are receiving messages from the spirits of the dead. (Examples: Magicians of EgyptExodus 7:11; Woman of Endor1 Samuel 28:3–25; SorcerersDaniel 2:2; A slave girlActs 16:16–18.)

May God grant you the strength and comfort you need during this time. He loves us with an everlasting love and is touched with the feelings of our infirmities. Pray and ask the Lord for wisdom on this topic and He will certainly guide you to the truth. God bless you.

    1. Thank you for your encouragement. You and I do not agree on doctrine, but that is alright. The Book of Mormon states that when we die we "go home to that God who gave us life." I know that Jim is very much alive. His body is in the grave awaiting the resurrection. But his spirit is in the world of spirits - in paradise. I have heard from him. I also heard from my beloved mother many years ago after she passed away. So I have experienced that they are very much alive and not just waiting in their graves.
