I get up in the morning at 6 a.m. every day. The days are getting shorter now... so it's dark then. Here are two pictures I took in my kitchen this morning. :)
:) I really think I'm done canning for this year. Now the cold weather will come and we'll eat what has been saved. I still have plenty of things in the garden now, which is very nice.
I am opposite; I love late evenings (after most people have gone to bed). But they both have that same almost magical between-time feeling, don't they?
My favorite way to spend an evening is out in the garden. I have a small pergola with a very vigorous hops vine that covers it almost completely. There I sit, often with a cocktail in hand, and listen the to the crickets and frogs. Heavenly!
You two must live somewhere much warmer than here! We still need many more warm days, even hot days which for us is the 80's. I know as soon as September comes the air changes, the light changes and Fall comes way too soon.
We still have much canning to do. Have not even started tomatoes in earnest yet. And sweet corn too.
Morning is full of freshness and peace. Mothers usually used to go into the kitchen for preparing meal. That's the great thing every morning we ca n start a new taste of life.
After this HOT summer I am happy to see shorter (cooler) days. Thank you for sharing your kitchen- love your island. Angela

We live in southeastern Indiana.
DeleteOh Indiana runs into Kentucky. Are you that far south? We are north central Wisconsin.
DeleteWe are probably 50 miles from Kentucky. Yes, Wisconsin would be much different than here.
DeleteI love early mornings too. It's quiet and peaceful and I can get things done.
